A Family Affair

Hello! I hope that everyone had a great long weekend and a happy memorial day! For me, it was a day filled with family picnics and great summer fun! We went to my grandparents farm today...and I enjoyed a great barbecue. I also enjoyed working on the farm....I was able to pick some strawberries and then collect some eggs! It felt like a real summer day and I quite enjoyed it!

On an outfit note....I picked up this white linen dress for five dollars over the weekend and I am quite happy with it! I also love my new hat...which I swooped up from Urban Outfitters! When I put on the dress...I immediately knew that this outfit required a hat and sandals to make it the ultimate summer look! I can tell that these two are definitely going to be a summer staple!

Dress - Old Navy
Hat - Urban Outfitters
Necklaces - Urban Outfitters and vintage
Rings - gift and a booth at a local street fair

Warm Weather Wishing

The weather that we have been having lately is making me very happy. Whenever warmer weather starts to roll around....I start dreaming of picnics and sundresses and lying on blanket in a field reading my favorite books. All I want to do is slip into my white sundress and grab a picnic and blanket and head for an open field. I love this weather and the feeling that it evokes in me. Ahh...spring!!!

I had to go and find some photos that expressed my dreams accurately...these pics were taken from The Sartorialist and Cupcakes and Cashmere.

Catching Up With Old Friends

A picture at the Reds game

An outfit picture from brunch. Dress - Macy's, Shoes - Old Navy, Necklace - DIY

Lately, I have spent a good amount of time catching up with some old friends that I went to school with. It has been a great time. A couple of us met up for Sunday brunch..and then on Tuesday a few of us went to a Reds game in Cincinnatti! It has been great seeing everyone and seeing how they have changed and what they are doing.

All this notalgia and catching up has had me thinking about how I have changed. I personally think that I am a much different person than the one I was when I graduated. Or for that matter, I think that I have changed since last year. I am figuring out what, and who, I want to be. I am figuring out what I want in my life, and what I want to accomplish. I have much more different interests and goals. I think that I know who I want to be now. It is strange how a person could change so much in just two years.

Old Friends And Old Movies

.....the ultimate weekend!!! I have a undeniable love for old, classic movies, so I felt it only natural that when I had some friends over to hang out and celebrate my birthday, we watch some classic movies. Thus, the 80's movie marathon.

As far as food goes, I have spent the last few days baking. It was hard, but it was fun and so worth it! We had mararoons, biscotti, caramels, and marshmallow milkshakes, as well as pizza, cake, and drinks. For the movies, we picked out Footloose, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Say Anything as our 80's options (with a few others in the mix). All were fantastic movies...you can't beat a classic!

When indulging in food and 80's movies all weekend, it becomes apparent that one must dress for the part....so we decided that 80's costumes would most definitely be best! A photoshoot in the wee hours of the morning is most definitely a good idea...trust me on this!

All in all it was an amazing night and I had so much fun! There is so much more to tell....but I don't think that I could even begin to describe the evening! It was great catching up with friends..as well as enjoying great food and great movies!

Outside of the arena

Cheesecake!!!

The outfit that I wore Friday night...taken outside of our hotel!

It was one busy week...but it was still a great one. My birthday was amazing, and I had so much fun!! My birthday was on Thursday, and then on Friday and Saturday, me and my mom headed to Columbus. I had so much fun spending time with her at the conference. Then we got to go shopping which was astounding. I got to go into so many stores that I can usually only frequent from online. Then to top off my weekend, we got my favorite cheesecake. I had so much fun and it was a great weekend.

I didn't want to overload you with images, so I only included a few from my entire weekend, and only had time to capture two of my outfits. Now it's time to get back to studying..only three days till summer!!!!
