Day Trip

Yesterday, my family and I made a trip to Columbus for the day. We had so much fun, and I got to do some great shopping. There were so many good deals at Forever 21, and I also did some shopping at H&M and Anthropologie. I got these fantastic cat socks at Forever 21 to add to my always growing collection of animal themed clothing. I also got some great cups at Anthropologie. Some of my other purchases were some dresses and a hair clip. I had such a great day spending time with my family.
When I came home I whipped up a new recipe that I am absolutely obsessed with. I made strawberry soup and I have eaten it so many times since then. I found the recipe in a book that I have, but I found this recipe that is similar, the only difference is that I added some orange juice to mine. It is so good and is great even without the croutons.
All in all it was a great day full of fun and family.

My DIY Craze

I have been on such a DIY spree lately. I told you all about some of my projects in my last post, but I have been busy making more. One of my most recent projects was this neon bracelet. I found the tutorial on one of my favorite blogs I Spy DIY. There are so many great tutorials and I want to try so many of them! I made one in green and one in pink. They were super easy as well.

I am hoping to work on another project later today if I can find the time. I am headed out to a birthday party later tonight and then I am heading to Columbus for some shopping tomorrow. I am so excited and I am looking forward to some great shopping. Hopefully I can find some lovely goodies for this spring. I have been looking at all the spring collections and I can not wait for warmer weather to come.

I hope that you all have a lovely day!

DIY: Hand Printing

I have recently discovered just how much I love hand printing my own fabrics. I have going a bit crazy with printing scarves, dresses, and a multitude of other things. One of my first projects was this fox print scarf.

I picked up an entire bolt of this sheer fabric for three dollars a few months ago and I thought that it would be perfect to make a few scarves with. I made two stamps. One was a fox and one was a cat. I will share both of my finished products later but I thought that first I would cover how I got started on it.

For this project you will need: fabric of your choice, a photo or sketch of your choice, sticky-back fun foam, a block of foam, fabric paint, scissors, and a paintbrush. You will also need newspaper to cover your entire work space.

First, you need to decide what shape you are wanting. I found it easiest to look up images online to help me with the basic shape. It is important to note here that if the direction of the shape is significant, you may need to flip your image before printing. I printed the photo off, and then cut out the shape. Next, I used my shape to trace the shape onto fun foam. Then simply remove the back and stick the foam to the block. Your stamp is now ready to use.
This is the fun part. You need to set out your fabric on an entirely covered surface. You may need to tape it down to make sure that it stays in place. At this point you can stamp in whatever pattern you would like. Just have fun with it. Once you get to making the stamps you can have so much fun. I have been working on so many projects and I am having so much fun.

Let me know if you have any questions! I would love to see any of your projects that you have hand stamped!

Winter Skin

One of my biggest problems during the long winter months is how to manage my dry skin. I have sensitive skin so it is hard for me to find products I love. I thought that I would share with you a few of my favorite products. I always carry around a few products with me and one of them is the rose salve, it is my favorite product. I also carry around the lip balm and lotion everywhere with me. One of the best products that I have ever purchased was the corn huskers lotion. It makes my skin so soft. I absolutely love these products to help with my dry winter skin.

Hunting for Treasures

Yesterday I went about town to some vintage shops and I picked up some great finds. I got some mittens which are perfect for walking around campus on chilly days, some vintage buttons for my backpack, and a bowtie which I am hoping to turn into a hair bow. I had do much fun and picked up some great treasures along the way.
I am now in the process of getting ready for the start of the semester in the morning. I love getting all of my new school supplies together, it is my favorite part of going back to school. I am a sucker for new stationary. I am also looking forward to getting back to a routine. Hopefully this means more routine around this little corner of the internet.
